Intercession, prayer for others, prayer for the unbelievers, for the backsliders, for our children and families. The word teaches that prayers and supplications should be made for all saints, for those who shall believe and for those in authority. It is God's will that we are to pray, without ceasing. Why is it that most Christians spend the majority of their time in prayer for themselves? Many times we pray unconsciously, saying what we have always said, and not from our heart or God's heart. We need to focus when praying for others, that we don't fall into old habits and old words that are said without conviction, without authority and without power. Someone prayed us into the kingdom, and we all want others to pray for us. How do we start? Let's begin with 15 minutes a day, for others, not a word for ourselves, except forgiveness, and direction from above. Increase it to 20, then 30 or 1 hour per day. This will dramatically change your regular prayer life. The Christian believed responsible for the Welsh revival Evan Roberts (1907), which preceded the Azuza Street revival, prayed fervently for revival and salvation for years before the revival. One landlady, kicked him out because she thought his dedication to fervent prayer for hours was insanity. Though the revival only lasted for one year, after this man of God dedicated himself to the ministry of intercessory prayer. He died in 1947, 40 years later.
